At the most recent Annual General Meeting members elected these folk who serve on the Management Committee.


Paul Shelley: Paul has a background in town planning and property development consultancy. He has been a member of the society since 2015. He posts a daily photography blog and is the accredited photographer for the Friends of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. Paul was elected Chair in 2019. Email:


Michael Kingston (LRPS)
: Mike enjoys creating prints and images, especially monochrome, using both film and digital. He has made many lasting friendships since he joined the Society some years ago.  As Secretary since 2015, he takes care of the Society’s more formal business. Email:


Alan Larsen
: Member since 2016; making photographs for a lot longer… but with more focus in this century. Interested in many styles of photography, with a leaning towards recording and finding meaning in the everyday and the banal, as well as a love for minimalist long exposures. Email:

Programme Organiser

Gerard Ryan
: Photographing the built environment has been a constant interest since Architecture student days. Of course, photography is so much more than presenting buildings and projects, and joining the Society has opened up whole new areas of interest. He is interested in the ‘why’ as well as the ‘how’ of photography. Joined the Society in 2019 and became Programme Organiser in 2020. Email:

Hilary Barton (LRPS)
: an enthusiastic maker of photo-books with a good knowledge of Photoshop and Lightroom, Hilary was Treasurer from 2014 to 2020 and then switched to the Membership role, which comprises welcoming new members, managing the membership renewal process and answering queries from current members. Marketing & Communications

Chris Jepson (ARPS)
: a professional portrait and documentary photographer for over 20 years, Chris is passionate about photographing people. Whether at work, at play, in music concerts or faith buildings Chris' images have been published in newspapers and magazines across the world. He joined the Society in 2016 to meet and socialise with more photographers and now works with the committee on marketing and communications. Email:

Internal Competitions

Rob Wilkinson
: Rob has been a member since 2018.  He does the admin for our quarterly Internal Competitions as well as the monthly Tiger Trophy award for favourite images posted to our Flickr page. Email:

External Competitions

Susi Luard (ARPS)
: Susi has been a member of our society since late 2012 when she started taking an interest in photography. She has also served as secretary to the society in the past.  She was awarded the LRPS distinction in 2015 and ARPS (Travel) distinction in 2016 by the Royal Photographic Society.  She has taken part in a number of RPS London Region projects and her work has been published in a few RPS publications. Dennis Law
: Dennis joined the committee in 2018, taking care of many of the practical matters that ensure our meetings run smoothly.


John Murray
: John joined the Society in 2015 to improve his photography, which has been one of his main hobbies since he was a lad. By profession he is a software engineer, which comes in handy for his committee role of Webmaster. Email:

Richard Eyers
: Richard has been interested in photography for many years, and joined the Society in 2017 to re-kindle a passion for photography after returning to London from working overseas. He is an enthusiastic photographer, and enjoys attending exhibitions and talks on any aspect of photography.
