Celebrating our 120th anniversary

Published on 10/5/2019

One hundred and twenty years ago our society issued its first annual report. One of our current members tracked down a copy of it:

Ten years later the following report appeared in the Daily Telegraph, dated Friday 1st October 1909:

The “Cripplegate Photographic Society” is justifying its expansion of the name to “City of London and Cripplegate Photographic Society” by a lively activity in the direction of evening meetings. The winter session commences on Oct.11 with an Address by Mr. F. J. Mortimer on “A Week in Holland with a Pocket Camera”. On Nov.8 Mr F. C. Hart deals with “Flashlight Photography,” and on Dec.13 Mr. Malcom Arbuthnot will expound his “Gum-Platinum Process.” The evenings for beginners – an important and valuable feature of this Society - Commence on Oct.18 (“Development”). No less than six special prizes are offered for completion for lantern slides, portraiture, &c. The annual exhibition is fixed for Feb. 21-24.

Join us at our Birthday Celebration on 15th October 2019.
